ADF – Forum Productions
In the novel American Democracy Forever, Dr. Charlie Durand created the Forum Media Group (FMG) to own and operate a network of radio, TV, newspaper, magazine, and cable companies, to create a bubble of liberal thought over the United States. Knowing these entities would need a reliable source of graphics, videos, and other media products, he also created Forum Productions, Inc. as a subsidiary of FMG.
PEP Talk speakers used Forum Productions to both prepare and stage their talks to ensure that each was entertaining, exciting, and elegantly presented. This was particularly true of the PEP Talks given by Charlie, which included aspects adapted from both Nazi rallies and Baptist church services.
Forum Clubs and local Democratic parties made heavy use of Forum Production skills to formulate consistent messages during political campaigns, including posters, TV ads, and rally staging.
“Also available to the Forum Clubs were generic posters and videos, professionally created by Forum Productions, which could be tailored with the images and speeches of candidates. Pro-Democrat ads emphasized the good character of the candidates, as family people who favored liberty, community service, and democracy. Anti-Republican ads showed their candidates to be self-serving, power-hungry fascists…”
As with other FMG subsidiaries, Forum Productions was expected to offer its services to other FMG subsidiaries and to outside customers for a modest profit. This supported its growth in the size of its operations and its investments in other types of media, including TV and movie productions, animation, and multiplayer online games. Charlie provided additional finances from the profits of his other companies for the more ambitious of these investments.
